사이버 보안 업체 체크 포인트는 한국 개발사가 만들어 구글 플레이 스토어에 등록한 41개 앱에서 ‘주디(Judy)’라는 자동 광고 클릭 악성코드가 심어져 있는 것을 발견했다고 25일(현지시각) 발표했다.주디 악성코드에 감염된 앱이 설치되면 사용자 몰래 지정된 광고 배너를 클릭하게 되는데 악성코드 개발자는 이것으로 광고 수익을 얻게 되는 동시에 사용자 기기는 불필요한 작동으로 자원을 소모하게 된다.
키니위니(Kiniwini)라는 개발사가 만든 것으로 구글 플레이 스토어에는 ‘ENISTUDIO corp’라고 등록되어 있다. 실제 개발사를 숨기기 위해 다른 이름을 사용한 것으로 추정된다. 이번에 발견된 41개 앱의 공통점은 앱 이름에 ‘주디’가 들어가 있다는 점이다. 패션 주디, 동물 주디, 요리사 주디 등등… 그래서 주디 악성코드로 명명됐다. 이외에 주디는 붙지 않았지만 같은 악성코드가 숨겨진 10여 개의 앱도 발견됐다. 악성코드에 감염된 앱은 수년 동안 구글 플레이 스토어에 있었고 심지어 최근 업데이트까지 된 것으로 확인됐다. 현재는 모두 삭제된 상태다. 체크포인트는 이 앱들이 최대 1,840만 회 다운로드됐고 최대 3,650만 대의 안드로이드 기기에 영향을 줄 수 있다고 추정했다.- 주디 악성 코드 앱 전체 리스트
